Williams, Neuin Lead Golden Wolves on Day One of Sea Gull Invitational

Quantico, Md. (April 11, 2026) - Alvernia University's Shawn Williams and Zachary Neuin both carded round one scores of 80 Saturday to lead the Golden Wolves at Sailsbury's Sea Gull Invitational at Green Hill Country Club.

The Alvernia A team posted a team score of 328 and are in solo fourth place. Alvernia's B team carded a 346 team score and are in ninth place.

Williams carded a front nine score of 41 and tallied three pars and a birdie at the ninth. Williams bounced back with a 39 on the back nine and posted six pars including three straight to end his round and post an eight over round of 80. Williams is in a tie for ninth place

Neuin also carded an 80 in round one and is also in a tie for ninth. Neuin carded three pars and a birdie at the par five sixth to card a 40 on the front nine. Neuin then posted another 40 on the back nine and tallied four pars and another birdie, which came on the 18th.

Chase Smith recorded a day one score of 83 and is currently in a tie for 18th place. Smith carded six pars on the day and ended his round with a birdie at the par five 18th to card a 40 on the back after a 43 on the front nine.

Matt Davies is in a tie for 23rd place after a first round score of 84 and tallied five pars and two birdies on the day.

Matthew Overholt carded a day one score of 85 and is in a tie for 28th place. Overhold carded six pars on the day including a stretch with four in a row, and also tallied a birdie on the 15th. Brock Mueller also carded an 85 on the day and is in a tie for 28th place. Mueller carded four pars and a team high three birdies, all of which came on the back nine.

Kenton Lightburn carded an 87 and is in a tie for 39th place, Jacob DeWitt carded an 88 and is in a tie for 44th place and Jakob Chapman posted an 89 and is in 46th place. Matthew Gagliardi carded a 93 in round one and is in a tie for 49th.

Alvernia is back at it tomorrow for round two of the Sea Gull Invitational.
