Reading, Pa, (July 8, 2026) - Alvernia University's Shawn Williams, Grace Spielman, Rylee Stenzel and Cassidy Miksich all earned Academic All-MAC honors for their performances on the course and in the classroom in 2025-2026 as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Wednesday. 

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Williams, a senior communication major, joins nine other MAC men's golfers on the Academic All-MAC team. 

Williams ended his impressive Alvernia career with a great senior campaign. Williams played in 14 of Alvernia's 15 events in the 2025-2026 season and recorded a 75.8 scoring average over 21 total rounds played. Williams recorded a low round of 71 which came at Alvernia's Spring Invitational when he carded a one under round en route to low medalist honors while also leading the team to the team title. Williams also finished in first place at Alvernia's Fall Invitational, and recorded a total of seven top ten finishes, six top three finishes and finished inside of the top 15 in 13 of the 14 events he played in. Williams carded two eagles on the season, 42 birdies and 225 pars. Williams recorded a T14 finish at the MAC Championships and also received All-Region honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America. 

Spielman, Stenzel and Miksich make up three of the ten MAC women's golfers on the Academic All-MAC team. 

Stenzel, a senior, graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology and is her fourth Academic All-MAC honor in her career. Stenzel competed in nine events for the Golden Wolves during her senior year and recorded five top ten finishes. Stenzel recorded a ninth place finish at the MAC Championships to earn Second Team All-MAC honors, the fourth All-MAC honor of her career. Stenzel posted an 86.2 scoring average across 13 rounds of competition and recorded a low round of 82. Stenzel also recorded 11 birdies and 77 pars in 2025-2026. 

Spielman, also a senior, earned her first Academic All-MAC honor and graduated with a degree in Biology. Spielman recorded the best finish for the Golden Wolves at the MAC Championships with a third place finish to earn First Team All-MAC honors after rounds of 81 and 84. Spielman also recorded a low medalist performance at the MAC Preview at Berkleigh Country Club when she fired in a one under round of 71 en route to the low medalist honors. Spielman recorded an 86.9 scoring average across 15 rounds and posted seven top ten finishes in 11 total events. 

Miksich, a junior Occupational Therapy major, rounded out the Golden Wolves to earn Academic All-MAC honors and it comes as the third honor of her career. Miksich played in ten events for Alvernia during her junior campaign and recorded top ten finishes in nine of the ten events she played in. Miksich posted a 82.7 scoring average across 14 rounds played and posted a low round of 77 on two occasions. Miksich first posted a 77 en route to low medalist honors at the Elizabethtown Fall Invitational at Hershey Country Club's East Course and then followed that up with another 77 in round two of Millersville's Fall Classic en route to a T4 finish. Miksich recorded 13 total birdies and 98 pars in 2025-2026 and also finished in a tie for sixth place at the MAC Championships to earn Second Team All-MAC honors.
