Richboro, Pa. (September 1, 2026) — Alvernia Men's Golf kicked off its 2026 Fall season on Tuesday at the Northampton Cup, hosted by Albright at par-72 Northampton Country Club in Richboro, Pa. Two squads traveled to Northampton for the first match of the year as a part of the 73-player field.
Alvernia's Maroon team tied for third place with host school Albright following a score of 302. Alvernia's Gold team placed 11th in the tournament following a score of 321.
The Maroon squad consisted of Miyeon Kim, Brody Calle, Quinlan Hood, Zachary Neuin, and Matthew Overholt. The Gold squad consisted of Gabe Arick, Matthew Gagliardi, Austen Brazeau, Tyler Koch, and Eugenio Paganoni.
Miyeon Kim, first-year, finished as the top scorer for the Golden Wolves. Kim posted his first collegiate Top-10 finish, in a tie for 6th overall, off the back of a strong round at one over par. After three early-round bogeys, Kim finished the final five holes of his front nine with three pars and two birdies on par-5 7th and par-4 9th. Kim continued with a strong turn, going par and birdie, respectively, to put him back at even par on the round. After two more bogeys, Kim finished his final three holes with two pars and a birdie on the 18th to finish the day at one over par.
Brody Calle, first-year, finished second for the Golden Wolves and in a tie for 13th overall as he posted his first collegiate golf round at two strokes over par. Calle fired seven pars on the front nine and continued to strike the ball well as he shot five pars and one birdie on par-5 11th on the first six holes of his back nine round. Calle finished his round with a birdie on par-4 17th and a par on 18.
Quinlan Hood finished third overall for the Golden Wolves and tied for 21st overall in his first collegiate competition. Hood's round was highlighted by 12 pars and one birdie. Hood's birdie topped off a streak of 10 pars in a row from holes six to 15, where he birdied hole 16, which was a par-3.
Zachary Neuin rounded out the counting scores for the Maroon team and shot six over par with 11 pars and one birdie on the 11th hole.
Gabe Arick and Matthew Gagliardi led the way for the Gold squad. Arick, who also recorded his first collegiate score, played the front nine at four over and finished his round at seven over. Gagliardi played the front nine at two over and finished his round at seven over as well.
Austen Brazeau finished his first collegiate round tied for 46th at eight over. Brazeau was even through nine holes, which included seven pars and a birdie on the third hole, which was a par-4. Matthew Overholt finished just one stroke back at nine over.
Tyler Koch finished his round at 11 over par, highlighted by eight pars and one birdie on hole 11 to round out his first collegiate golf round. Eugenio Paganoni finished his round at 12 over par, highlighted by eight pars and two back-nine birdies on holes 13 and 15, which were par-3 and par-5, respectively. Paganoni also completed his first collegiate round of golf at Northampton.
Marymount took team honors with a total of 290. Marymount's Tanner Currie and Albright's Archie Stoner took low medalist with a total of 2-under on the day.
Alvernia is back in action this Sunday and Monday, September 6-7, for the Dickinson College Invite hosted at Carlisle Barracks Golf Club
