Alvernia Competes at Adrian Invitational

Adrian, Mich (Nov. 12, 2023) - Alvernia University Women's Wrestling competed in the Adrian College Women's Invitational on Sunday in Adrian, Michigan.

Alvernia had seven women's wrestlers compete in the invitational, which saw 23 schools compete from all over the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions.

Genevieve Weikel and Deborah Flores led Alvernia, picking up 2.5 points each. After dropping her first bout of the day, Weikel picked up a win with a pin in 1:43 in the first round of consolation bouts. Weikel went on to be defeated in round two of consis. After a first round bye, Flores dropped her first bout of the day before picking up a pin in 21 seconds in the second round of constellations. She then lost by a technical fall in the third round of consis.

North Central College won the event with 507.5 points. Lock Haven took second place with 193 points.

Alvernia is back in action on Tuesday at Delaware Valley.
