Fries Leads Alvernia at ESU

East Stroudsburg, Pa. (Nov. 3, 2024) - First year women's wrestler Peyton Fries took fourth place to lead Alvernia at the ESU Open on Sunday at East Stroudsburg University.

Fries took fourth place at 207 lbs. She started her day with a late pin in 5:14 over Christina Chavez, and moved into the semifinals with a 10-0 victory by technical superiority over York's Emma Lavalle. Fries dropped her final two bouts to take fourth place.

Trinity Robinson (131 lbs), Abbigail Kohl (138 lbs), Macenzie Hunter (180 lbs), and Fries each recorded a win by fall on the day. Hunter finished with two wins by fall, and Fries had one win by fall and one win by technical superiority. Outside of Fries, Hunter progressed the furthest in her respective consolation bracket, making it to the second round of eight at 180 lbs.

King University took first place with seven top-two finishers in the field.
