Alvernia Competes at Wilkes Open

Wilkes, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Wrestling competed at the Wilkes University Women's Open on Sunday on the campus of Wilkes University.

Alana Durham started her day with a fall in 1:43 over Kean's Kioni Lewis and then moved into the quarterfinals with a 11-0 technical fall over Utica's Dakoda House in 44 seconds. Durham then dropped her final two bouts of the day.

After a first round bye, Elizabeth Adebola started her day with an 11-1 technical fall in 2:32 over McDaniel's Maddux Wukitch. She then was edged out 7-5 by Eastern's Olivia Kinder in the quarterfinals, and her day ended in the consolation round of eight.

Macenzie Hunter started the day with back-to-back pins. In the round of 16, she pinned Felician's Destiny Rivera in 2:06. She then pinned Muhlenberg's Gelia Brutus in 1:28. But, Hunter was then pinned by McDaniel's Kayla Carter in the semifinals and had her day come to an end in the consolation semis with a loss via fall to Felicians' Cerenity Whiting.

Felician University took first place with 131.5 points. Eastern University took second with 113.5 points.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at the NJCU Quad Match. Alvernia will face the host Gothic Knights, Frostburg University, and Utica University.
