Golden Wolves Open 2024-25 Season at Rust Buster

Reading, Pa. (Dec. 7, 2024) - Alvernia University Women's Track and Field opened its 2024-25 season on Saturday at home as the Golden Wolves hosted the Alvernia University Rust Buster at the Tom and Helen Flynn.

The Golden Wolves opened the season with a first place finish, four top-three finishes, and four new personal records.

Mylina Castillo took first place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.78m. Alvernia also had second place finishes from Angelise Rodriguez in the triple jump with a mark of 9.83m. Elisabeth Schwarz took second in the 60m with a time of 8.18 seconds. Samantha Wallace was also a top-three finisher for Alvernia in the 200m with a time of 30.32 seconds.

Alvernia also had four athletes set new personal records to open the season. Isabella Lesko, Mikayla Giuliano, and Maria Skulski each set new PRs in the shot put. Lesko took fourth with a mark of 9.99m, Giuliano took seventh with a mark of 9.31m, and Skulski took 14th with a mark of 7.84m. Elizabeth Kollock set a new PR in the 60m on her preliminary attempt with a time of 8.92 seconds.

Alvernia has off until the new year and will return to action on January 18th at the Alvernia Winter Invitational.
