Golden Wolves Compete at First Day of AARTFC Championship

Rochester, NY (March 1, 2024) - Five Alvernia Men's and Women's Track and Field athletes competed at the first day of the AARTFC Championship on Friday evening at Nazareth University.

Two athletes earned top-15 finishes and four finished in the top-20 of their respective events.

Cera Gaston was the top finisher for the Golden Wolves on Friday with an 8th place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 18:05.48.

Elisabeth Schwarz finished 13th in the 60m with a time of 8.02 seconds and Cory Gray hit a new personal record in the shot put with a 14.70m mark for a 13th place finish.

Alexander Witmer took 17th in the shot put with a mark of 14.55m at Jack Short took 34th in the 60m with a time of 7.14 seconds.

Alvernia will be back at Nazareth University on Saturday for the final day of the AARTFC Championship.
