Gaston Leads Alvernia at AARTFC Championship

Cortland, NY (May 16, 2024) - Graduate Student Cera Gaston led Alvernia's showing at the 2024 AARTFC Regional Championship on Wednesday and Thursday at SUNY Cortland.

Gaston took first place in the 10,000m with a time of 37:19.48. Isabel Fries also secured a podium finish, taking eighth place with a personal record time of 38.47.30.

Also competing for Alvernia was Elisabeth Schwarz, Mylina Castillo, Jessie Torres, Spencer Hahn, and Alexander Witmer.

Schwarz took 17th in the 100m with a time of 12.90 seconds, Castillo secured a podium finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.31m for a seventh place finish. Torres rounded things out for the women's team with a 26th place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:25.84.

Hahn took 18th in the 800m with a time of 1:58.80. Witmer competed in both the shot put and discus for the Golden Wolves. He took 23rd in the shot put with a mark of 13.80m, and 28th in the discus with a mark of 39.69m.
