Alvernia Returns to Action at Winter Invitational

Reading, Pa. (Jan. 18, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Track and Field returned to action on Saturday to kickoff the heart of the indoor season as the Golden Wolves hosted the Alvernia Winter Invitational at the Tom and Helen Flynn Plex.

Alvernia finished Saturday with five top-eight finishes and two new personal records set.

Mylina Castillo was Alvernia's top individual finisher on Saturday with a third place finish in the triple jump. Castillo finished with a 10.99m mark in the finals to take third overall and set a new season-best. 

Rosnelly Sanchez De Aza took sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:29.87, and Paige Jerrahian finished just behind in eight place with a new personal-record time of 2:33.48.

Angelise Rodriguez took seventh in the high jump with a personal-record mark of 1.50m. Rodriguez also had a ninth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 9.73m.

Caitlin Sternberg rounded out Alvernia's top-eight finishers with an eighth palace finish in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.96 seconds.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at the Widener Invitational, hosted at the University of Penn.
