Vitalo, Adebola Named Alvernia Athletes of the Week

Reading, Pa. (Dec. 15, 2025) - Alvernia Men's Wrestling first year Ian Vitalo and Women's Wrestling sophomore Elizabeth Adebola were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of December 8 - December 14, 2025.

Ian Vitalo went 2-0 on the day as Alvernia went 2-0 at the King's College Duals. Vitalo recorded a 21-6 technical fall over Zahier Chiles as Alvernia defeated NJCU, 33-8. He then followed that with a pin in just 36 seconds over Alfred State's Brandon Dellapia as the Golden Wolves defeated Alfred State, 36-12.

Elizabeth Adebola recorded four pins en route to a first place finish at 160 lb at the Alvernia Golden Wolves Open on Sunday. Adebola started her day with a pin over Emmanuel's Malia Nguyen in 2:15. She then followed that with a pin over Wilkes' Kendra O'Brien and 52 seconds in the quarterfinals. She secured a trip to the championship bout with a fall in 1:02 of Molly Winters. Adebola secured the 160 lb title with a pin in 1:33 over Marymount's Kaylee Anderson.

Men's Wrestling is back in action on Saturday in Nashville at the Gator Boot Duals. Women's Wrestling is off until January 10th when they return to action at Misericordia for a dual with the Cougars.
