Golden Wolves Compete at 2025 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship

Reading, Pa. (March 1, 2025) - Alvernia University Track and Field took 11th place in the Women's Championship and 13th place in the Men's Championship this weekend at the 2025 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship held at Alvernia's Tom and Helen Flynn PLEX.

The Golden Wolves combined for four All-MAC honors. Mylina Castillo took All-MAC honors in both the long and triple jump. On the men's side Spencer Hahn and Leo Tirado earned hardware for the Golden Wolves.

Individual Highlights
  • Mylina Castillo and Britney Anyia highlighted Alvernia's efforts on day one. Castillo took 3rd Team All-MAC honors. Both Castillo and Anyia posted personal-records with identical marks 5.27m. It was their second jumps of 5.06m and 5.03m, respectively, that broke the tie and determined the placements.
  • On the men's side on Friday, Alvernia's day was highlighted by a fifth place finish from the 4x200m relay team, which posted a time of 1:31.88. That team was composed of Luke St. Pierre, Anthony Downs, Andrew Simmons, and Caleb Auzenne.
  • On Saturday, Castillo again led Alvernia's efforts as she claimed her second All-Conference honor of the weekend. Castillo took second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.40 meters.
  • Alvernia's women found the podium one more time in the final event of the Championship as the women's 4x400m relay took eighth with a time of 4:24.20. The team was composed of Rosnelly Sanchez de Aza, Paige Jerrahian, Caitlin Sternberg, and Brooke Hall.
  • Alvernia's Men's team on Saturday took home two All-MAC honors. Spencer Hahn took 2nd in the 800m to earn Second Team All-MAC honors with a time of 1:55.84. Leo Tirado took 3rd place and Third Team All-MAC honors in the high jump with a personal and program record mark of 1.92m
Team Results
  • Lebanon Valley won the Men's Track and Field team title with 118 points. Alvernia's men finished in 13th place with 18 points.
  • Widener's Women's Track and Field team ran away with the team title with 158 points. Alvernia's women finished in 11th place with 20 team points.
