East Stroudsburg, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2023) - Alvernia Women's Wrestling tied for 13th place in the field of 22 teams on Sunday at the East Stroudsburg Open.

Nevaeh Blevins led the way for Alvernia, taking a 6th place podium finish at 101 lbs. After falling in her first round, Blevins recorded a fall of her own over Elmira's Taylor Goguen to move into the fifth place match. Blevin fell by technical fall to Gannon's Chloe Kitagawa to take 6th place. 

Other highlights from the ESU open included a 10-0 technical fall win by Grace Molloy at 109 lbs over Cedar Crest's Leilani Martinez and a 12-2 technical fall by Genevieve Weikel at 155 lbs over Cedar Crest's Yazmin Martinez.

Giana Faura also progressed to the consi round of four with a 10-2 decision over Frostburg's Catherine Dutton and a 10-0 technical fall over East Stroudsburg Felicia Smith.

Sacred Heart took home the team title with 58 points.
