Men's Track and Field Returns to Action at Shenandoah

Shenandoah, Va. (Jan. 14, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Track and Field returned from break and took on a field of 10 teams on Sunday at the Shenandoah Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational.

The Golden Wolves had eight individuals post a personal record and seven top-eight finishes.

Alvernia finished sixth among the field of ten teams with 31 team points.

Highlights

Luke St. Pierre took 1st place in the 400m with a time of 53.82 to finish as Alvernia's top-finisher of the day.
Alvernia's 4x800m relay team took seventh place with a time of 8:59.61. The team was a mix of new and returning faces for the Golden Wolves, with Sam Martinez, Ethan Darlington, Kyle Schermerhorn, and Zack Wendel making up the team for Alvernia.
Alvernia had two top-eight finishers in the 200m with Jack Short taking third with a time of 23.50 and Anthony Downs taking eighth with a time of 24.17.
Schermerhorn led a large contingent of Golden Wolves competing in the 3,000m. Schermerhorn took fifth place with a time of 9:23.27.
Jake Ziegler took fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 6.10m.
Alexander Witmer took 3rd in the shot put with a mark of 14.39m.
