Golden Wolves Take On York Twilight

York, Pa. (March 28, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Track and Field competed at the 2024 York College Twilight Invitational on Wednesday night at York College.

The Golden Wolves finished Wednesday night with eight top-ten finishes and seven personal records in just their second invitational of the outdoor season.

Highlights and Personal Records

Anthony Downs was Alvernia's top-finisher of the night. Downs took third place in the 200m with a time of 22.98. Downs also had a seventh place finish in the 100m with a time of 11.41.
Luke St. Pierre had a fourth place finish in the 400m with a personal record time of 53.77. Spencer Hahn also had a top-ten finish in the 500m with a time of 51.63 for a sixth place finish.
Brandon VanSchaick finished in sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.88. Ethan Maricn also had a personal record in the 100m hurdle with a time of 19.19 seconds.
Kameron Dove took seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.70m.
Alvernia had a strong showing in the shot put on Wednesday night. Cory Gray took eighth with a personal record throw of 13.90m. Alexander Witmer finished right behind Gray with a ninth place finish on a throw of 13.67m.
Grant Sharp threw a personal record 35.50 meters in the discus for a 14th place finish.
Kyle Schermerhorn ran a personal record 2:06.69 in the 800m to take 21st place.
The Golden Wolves had two personal records posted in the 5,000m. Zackary Wendel took 42nd with a PR time of 16:25.65, and Ryan Dennison toko 68th with a time of 17:51.77.

Up Next

Alvernia has off this weekend for the Easter Holiday. The Golden Wolves will return to action on April 5th and 6th for the two-day Millersville Metrics.
