Grantham, Pa. (April 14, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Track and Field competed at the Messiah University Mutlis and Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Messiah University. A small group also competed at the Bucknell Bison Invitational at D1 Bucknell University.

The Golden Wolves finished the invitationals with a combined 10 new personal records and nine top-ten finishes. Alvernia finished the Messiah Invitational in 10th with 27 team points.


Highlights and Personal Records

• Alexander Witmer took first in the shot put with a mark of 14.10 meters. Witmer also had a new PR in the discus with a mark of 35.78m.
• Luke St. Pierre took third in the 400m with a time of 51.11 seconds. St. Pierre also had a fourth place finish in the 200m with a personal record time of 22.30 seconds.
• Ethan Marcin took seventh in the 110m hurdles with a personal record time of 17.67 seconds.
• Adam Loehr took sixth in the 40m hurdles with a time of 1:01.49.
• Kyle Schermerhorn and Ryan Dennison finished 8th/9th in the 10,000m. Schermerhorn ran a 36:56.01, and Dennison finished just a few seconds back with a 36:59.45.
• Jake Ziegler finished ninth in the triple jump with a personal record mark of 12.42m.
• Kevin Kazokas took 10th in the long jump with a mark of 5.67m. Quinn Harter also had a personal record in the long jump with a mark of 4.95m.
• Elisiah Jerome and Kazokas beach had personal records in the 100m with times of 11.28 second and 11.74 seconds, respectively. 
• Sheadon Carr had a new PR in the shot put with a mark of 10.66m.
• At Bucknell, Spencer Hahn posted a new PR in the 800m with a time of 1:53.81, bettering his previous PR by nearly five seconds. 
• Also at Bucknell, Anthony Downs posted a new PR in the 100m with a time of 11.09 seconds. 

Up Next

• Alvernia splits up again on Friday and Saturday. Some individuals will compete at Hopkins on Friday and Saturday, and others will head to Widener on Friday and Saturday.
