Millersville, Pa. (April 8, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Track and Field wrapped up competition at the Millersville Metrics Invitational on Saturday afternoon, hosted by DII Millersville University.

Alvernia finished the event with one program record broken, 11 top-ten finishes, and 15 personal records set. The Golden Wolves also finished sixth place as a team with 43.5 points in the field of 19 teams. 

Highlights and Personal Records

• Alexander Witmer broke Alvernia's shot put record with a throw of 14.64 meters. He finished in third in the shot put with the throw, and beat his previous PR by nearly a meter. 
• Both Anthony Downs and Luke St. Pierre finished in the top-ten in the 100m. Downs took fourth with a personal record time of 11.27 seconds, and St. Pierre took fifth with a personal record time of 11.32 seconds.
• Anthony Downs took second in the 200m with a personal record time of 23.36 seconds. Luke St. Pierre also placed in the 200m with a time of 22.94 seconds for a seventh place finish.
• Spencer Hahn took second in the 800m with a time of 1:58.77.
• Cory Gray finished in fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.62m to join Witmer with a top-ten finish in the event.
• Brandon VanSchaick and Adam Loehr each had top-ten finishes in the 400m hurdles. VanSchaick finished in fifth with a time of 58.11 seconds. Adam Loehr took seventh with a time of 1:00.72.
• Kyle Schermerhorn took seventh in the 10,000m with a personal record time of 33:24.18.
• Kameron Dove took eighth in the high jump with a personal record mark of 1.80m.
• Joe Canterino ran a PR time of 12.31 in the 100m.
• Sheadon Carr and Grant Sharp each threw personal records in the shot put. Carr threw a 10.01 for a 33rd place finish, and Sharp took 14th with a mark of 12.63m.
• Ethan Darlington and Ryan Dennison each ran PRs in the 1,500m. Darlington took 38th with a time of 4:42.21, and Dennison took 33rd with a time of 4:38.78.
• Elisiah Jerome ran a PR in the 200m with a 27th place time of 23.91 seconds.
• Ethan Marcin took 17th in the 110m hurdles with a PR time of 17.95 seconds.
• Aidan Chumas threw a personal record 38.79m in the javelin to take 22nd place. 
• Sam Martinez rounded out the PRs in the 800m with a time of 2:10.98.

Up Next

• Alvernia's squad will split up this weekend, with some members of the team competing at the Messiah Invitational and Multis beginning on Thursday. Others will head to the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic beginning on Friday.
