Reading, Pa. (Jan. 18, 2025) - Alvernia University Men's Track and Field returned for the latter half of the Indoor Track and Field season on Saturday as the Golden Wolves hosted the Alvernia Winter Invitational at the Tom and Helen Flynn Plex. 

The Golden Wolves finished Saturday with a first place finish, six top-eight finishes, and eight new personal records set.

Spencer Hahn was Alvernia's lone first place finisher, taking first in the 800m with a time of 1:59.48. 

Luke St. Pierre was Alvernia's next highest finisher, taking fourth place in the 400m with a time of 52.60 seconds. Brandon VanSchaick took fifth place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.15 seconds, and he set a new PR in the prelims with a time of 9.09. 

Sam Martinez rounded Alvernia's individual top-eight finishers with an eighth place finish in the 3,000m with a personal-record time of 9:43.30. Ryan Dennison finished 11th in the same event with a personal-record time of 9:50.61 - bettering his previous PR by over 45 seconds.

Alvernia also had top-eight finishes from two relay teams. The 4x200m relay team of Leo Tirado, VanSchaick, Caleb Auzenne, and Anthony Downs took third place with a time of 1:34.66. The 4x800m relay team of James Henry, Younes Naimi, Zackary Wendel, and Hahn took seventh place with a time of 8:50.95.

William Dennis (60m), Ethan Marcin (60m Hurdles), Quinn Harter (Long Jump and Triple Jump), Andrew LeClair (Long Jump), and Grant Sharp (Weight Throw) each recorded new personal records as well.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday at the Widener Invitational, hosted at the University of Penn.
