Hall of Fame
Zach Lutz crammed a lot of accomplishments into a 3-year Hall of Fame career. He earned four All-American honors. In 2005 he was All-American at two positions—both pitcher and utility. In 2007 he was named the d3baseball.com National Player of the Year. He was a 2-time PAC Player of the Year. Lutz holds career records for batting average at .445 and doubles with 51. He is top 5 in career hits, home runs, RBIs, slugging, and on base percentage.
Following his junior year Lutz was drafted by the New York Mets in the Fifth Round.
He played 10 years in the Mets minor league system and was up with the major league team for 22 games over the 2012 and 13 seasons. He made his major league debut on April 24, 2012 as a pinch hitter against the Miami Marlins.
