Carl Solarek, Jr. was the first All-American at Alvernia.  He transferred from Temple before his junior year and was named First Team All-District 19 in 1991 and 1992 as a pitcher and an outfielder.  In 1991 Solarek was named the NAIA District 19 Player of the Year.  That season he was seven nationally in batting average, second in hits per game, 10th in doubles per game, and 16th in RBIs per game.

In two season, Solarek compiled 99 RBIs and is fourth all-time with a .414 career batting average.  He is seventh all-time with 43 career stolen bases and second in career ERA (2.71).  He is 10th in complete games with 10 and holds the single season record for innings pitches with 76.1 in 1991.
