Hall of Fame
Lauren Fortna is a two-time member of the All-PAC teams. She earned honorable mention as a junior then had a fantastic senior year averaging 17 points, two assists, and two steals in 27 games leading Alvernia to the PAC semifinal and being named PAC Player of the Year.
She remains three in career games played at Alvernia, 13th in points, 7th in 3-pointers made, and eighths in steals. She still holds the record for most free throws made in a game without a miss at 12.
After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education she moved to Lancaster and worked as a substitute teacher. She took a full-time job at WeeCare Day Care in 2010 and after three years moved into the family business doing medical staffing. After a few years she jumped into professional staffing. She currently works as a staffing manager at TriStarr in Lancaster.
She and her husband—and Alvernia grad—Ryan, have two kids, 10-year old Ella and 6-year old Jordan. The family enjoys traveling and playing sports together and in a surprise to no one with two of the most competitive people I’ve seen play in this gym, family game night can get a little contentious.
