Sandy Slabik

Sandy  Slabik was the Alvernia Director of Athletics from 1991 through 1997. She directed the athletics transition from the NAIA to the NCAA and was instrumental in the start of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.  She also coached Field Hockey and Softball.
 
While at Alvernia, Slabik served as the Department Chair of Health Education and Physical Education.  She was an associate professor in the Education Department and two-year president of the faculty council.  Slabik served on a number of committees at Alvernia including Academic and Faculty Councils, Judiciary Board, Middle State Review and a Presidential Search Committee.
 
After Alvernia, Slabik became the Director of the Sport Management Programs at Neumann University where she served from 1997-2011.  She was the Faculty Athletic Representative for Neumann Athletics until her retirement in 2011.  She served on numerous NCAA  committees and was a two-time Vice President for the NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative Association.
