Carey Manzolillo was a three-time All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference honoree in field hockey. As a goalie, she was named Second Team in 2003 and 2004 and First Team in 2005. She is the career leader in shutouts with 24, saves with 653, save percentage at .852, and goals against average at 1.27.  As a senior, Manzolillo was named the PAC Player of the Year and Second Team All-Region after earning Alvernia’s first NCAA tournament win in a 2-1 victory against Lynchburg. Manzolillo capped her senior year becoming the first CoSida Academic All-American in school history.

Manzolillo stayed on at Alvernia, taking a position in the newly formed Marketing and Communication department while earning her MBA. After acquiring her masters, she watched from a front row seat as the college became a university and our residential population doubled.  She is currently the Associate Director of Communication, handling internal and external communication. Outside of Alvernia, Manzolillo coached at the high school level and played club hockey until recently. She also coached her son’s sports teams, served as his cub scout den leader, and now enjoys seeing him on campus as a member of the Class of 2020. Manzolillo has recently returned to coaching, working with the youth hockey program at Governor Mifflin.
