Deotis Carolina was a three-time All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference performer in men’s basketball. He was named to the Second Team in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Carolina holds two top-5 spots in the career record books, ranking third in field goal percentage at .614, and fourth in rebounds with 670. A member of the 1,000 point scorers club, Carolina is 21st in scoring with 1,049 points. In his junior year, Carolina was the starting center for the team that won Alvernia’s first PAC Championship in 2000.
After graduation, Carolina served as the Human Resources Manager for several top organizations. Carolina became the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Tasty Baking Company in Philadelphia in 2013, and advanced to the Director of Process Improvement two years later. He and his wife, Markia were married in 2001, and currently reside in Middletown, Delaware, with their daughter Samia, and sons Deotis III and Douglas. Outside of work and growing his family, Carolina has begun distance running and developing, managing, and coaching basketball clinics for children ages 7-13 as a way to give back to the community and offer children positive and respectable fun through competition.
