Tom Baro graduated fifth all-time in points at Alvernia with 1,280 and currently ranks 12th. In the 1983-84 season, he led the team in field goal percentage and rebounds. In his senior season Tom led the team in steals, blocked shots, and rebounds. To this date, over three decades later, he is still one of just four players in school history to average at least 10 rebounds in a season.

Following graduation Baro attended the Allentown Police Academy. Upon completing the training there, he had a brief career in law enforcement before returning to work full time for the family owned trucking company, Jesse Baro, Incorporated in 1989. In 1995 Tom became co-owner of the family business and still serves in that capacity today.
